The second Victorian Summer School in Ultracold Atomic Physics was held in Melbourne, Australia over a two week period from June 25th to July 6th. The School incorporated approximately 6 lectures per day on current topics in ultracold physics presented by leaders in the field, leaving room for additional tutorials and discussions.

VSSUP 2012 included lectures and tutorials on the following topics:

  • The theory of Bose-Einstein Condensation
  • Atom interferometry
  • Bosonic Josephson junctions
  • BECs in optical lattices
  • Quantum technologies
  • Trapped ions and their applications
  • Polarons, molecules and critical phenomena in 1D Fermi gases
  • Spin-orbit coupling and spintronics
  • Entanglement and quantum causality

The lecture programme and lecture notes are available online.
